Painted anglerfish (Antennarius pictus)

Anglerfish (also known as frogfish) lure their prey by means of their first dorsal spine, which has evolved into a "fishing rod". Their cavernous mouths are then capable of creating a vacuum which sucks in curious fish who have not seen the silent sponge-like predator attached to said fishing pole.....
